ACCOUNTABILITY
LEADERSHIP SEMINAR
Principles of Accountability Leadership
(PAL) is an ambitious custom program that teaches the core concepts
of accountability and leadership in three action-packed days!
In the lively PAL sessions, participants do
more than learn key concepts: they engage in discussions on the
relevance of the concepts’ applications and test company-specific
uses and new applications.
The key goals of the PAL program are to:
-
Define accountabilities
more accurately;
-
Understand more
completely what it takes for an individual to be effective in a
role;
-
Learn how an
individual’s work fits into the company’s "big picture";
-
Understand the different
types of teams and how optimize their use; and
-
Define accountabilities
for capable-and-efficient cross-functional processes.
The PAL program challenges
participants’ assumptions about accountability and work, sharpens
participants’ thinking about work-related issues, and provides
participants with a fresh perspective.
For the PAL program to be
successful and for a company to get maximum return on investment,
Institute instructors need to work with key organizational
representatives in advance of the program. These preliminary activities
are important so that Levinson instructors can thoroughly understand
current issues, strategies, as well as the culture of the client
organization. The active participation of a company’s senior people is
also important to develop consensus on company-wide goals and the PAL
program’s targeted learning objectives.
PAL typically consists of
pre-reading, lectures, small-group discussions, case studies, and video
presentations. There tends to be a particularly high level of
participation by the learners in the PAL sessions.
With the innovative
train-the-trainers component, the ultimate goal of the PAL program is to
translate Levinson concepts into an ambitious program that a company’s
own trainers—on a licensing basis—can teach to significant numbers of
others long after The Levinson Institute’s day-to-day involvement with
the client company has ceased. Following a train-the-trainers week
and a rigorous certification process, subsequent PAL programs can be
taught and facilitated by the company’s own instructors.
