EXECUTIVE TEAM BUILDING

Executive teams have the accountability to develop a strategic course for their companies and to lead their people in that direction. Especially difficult, when there is a change in direction, is gaining commitment to that strategy from executives and their people.

Each executive team member comes to the group with a different perspective, formed by his or her assumptions, priorities, and frames of reference.  Consequently, teams often get mired in details and avoid important issues.

To alleviate those problems and create a better understanding of the process, Levinson Institute consultants apply principles that have worked successfully with senior teams they have guided in hundreds of companies.  They involve four fundamental dimensions:

Levinson consultants create a broader range of options with regard to accountability, conflict, change, and effective leadership.  They get important issues on the table; and conduct open, honest, discussions that lead to better decision making.  In particular, Levinson consultants provide:

  • An outside perspective;

  • An accountability framework for clarifying decision making and the process leading to those decisions;

  • An ability to put issues into a broader context;

  • Well-honed skills in facilitation, coaching, and problem solving; and

  • Knowledge, long-time experience, and carefully developed methodologies.

Levinson presents new and exciting possibilities to executive teams through a variety of avenues, from facilitating off-site retreats, to attending team meetings, to conducting formalized training sessions that introduce concepts from the On Leadership and Strategic Organization seminars.

"Ask not what your team

can do for you—but let's do ask what being on a team

can do for your career development."
